SSC CPO SI PET preparation

Our batch when we passed most difficult part of exam.

As you have passed Paper 1 and need to crack most difficult part of this exam i.e. PET my this article will guide you completely for passing it easily to become SI in CAPF.

After passing the Paper I, you will be called for Physical Endurance Test (PET)/ PST and same day medical test. Then only you will be allowed to sit for Paper 2.

1.Eligibility for SSC CPO Physical Endurance Test

Eligibility criteria for SSC CPO Physical Test 2017 are as follows:

*Please Note: The hilly areas, mentioned in the Official Notification are – Garhwal, Kumaon, Himachal Pradesh, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas, Kashmir Valley, Leh & Ladakh regions.

To get height relaxation (reserved categories) you need to present proof of reservation.

2. Events in Physical Endurance Test (PET)

 Male Candidates

  1. 1.6 Km race in 6.5 minutes
  2. 100 meters race in 16 seconds
  3. High Jump – 1.2 meters in 3 chances
  4. Long Jump – 3.65 meters in 5 chances
  5. Short put 16 LBS – 4.5 meters in 3 chances

Female Candidates

  1. 800 meters race in 4 minutes
  2. 100 meters race in 18 seconds
  3. High Jump – 0.9 metres or 3 feet in 3 chances
  4. Long Jump – 2.7 metres or 9 feet in 5 chances

3.Step by step procedure on the day of PET

Physical test procedure conducted by PET center in SSC CPO Physical Standard test.
  • You need to report at the venue on time (7 am Morning)
  • You need to fill a form there.
  • Officials will divided you into groups (10-12 candidates)
  • Grouping depends on total no. of aspirants present.
  • Now in groups you need to race for 1600 m in in 6.5 minutes (MALE)
  • For female race would be of 800 meters and time is 4 minutes. (FEMALE)
  • All the candidates who clear the race criteria will go 100 meter race and rest who disqualified will be out of the competition (they can watch other perform)
  •  After few minutes break you will do, 100 meter race in 16 seconds.
  • After race if you qualify you need to go for long jump(3.65 metres/12 ft in 3 chances)
  • If you clear the Long Jump, you will be next round else you are OUT.
  • Next round is High Jump (1.2 metres/4ft) in 3 chances.
  • Next round is shot put(16 lbs need to throw 4.5 metres- 3 attempts)
  • If you are qualified in PET then you will go to PST Exam where height and chest will be checked.
  • All the candidates who don’t meet the criteria will be rejected and you will be asked to fill a form stating the reason of rejection.

4. Medical Test details for SSC CPO 2017

After you qualify the PET, on the same day or next day you will be medically examined by the Medical Officer of the CAPFs or any Medical Officer/Assistant Surgeon (Grade I).
 If you cleare the medical test result will be announced verbaly on the same day and you just need to start preparing for Paper 2.
If in case you are found to be unfit, don't worryy you will be informed and will be given a chance to question the result and make an appeal before Review Medical Board within 15 days.
 Then your medical exam will happen after a month at Delhi or Hyderabad. If you cleare the medical test result will be announced verbaly on the same day and you just need to start preparing for Paper 2.

5.Medical standards – SSC CPO Medical Exam

Eye sight – The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of two eyes without correction i.e. without wearing of glasses.
The candidate must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and they should possess high colour vision.
You must be in good mental and health conditions (defect free body)

6.Rules related to Tattoos – SSC CPO Physical Test

  • Ministry of Home Affairs vide its letters No.I – 45020/7/2012/Pers-II (dated 12th -30th  January 2017) issued the following guidelines regarding candidates having tattoos
  • Tattoos depicting religious symbol or figures and the name are permitted.
  • Tattoos marked on traditional sites of the body allowed.
  • Size must be less than ¼ of the particular part.
Note: The above terms are not applicable in case of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police for the present.
